Tyler Serrato
Director of Percussion
Tyler Serrato is the Director of Percussion at Permian High School. He is currently entering his 3rd year of teaching. Mr. Serrato graduated from Permian back in 2015 and is very excited to be joining the band staff here this year. After graduating Permian, Mr. Serrato studied music education at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. While at Tech, he performed with many ensembles including the Percussion Ensemble, Steel Band, Wind Ensemble, and the Goin’ Band from Raiderland.
After graduating college, he moved back to Odessa where he was the Associate Director of Bands at Crockett Middle School for one year. Mr. Serrato is excited to be back at his alma mater.
Mr. Serrato is married to his lovely wife Brighton Serrato. Brighton also has a big musical background and plays live music throughout the Permian Basin. They will be welcoming their baby girl Owen Brooke Serrato into this world in early September.
